QuoteHTC has admitted its UK service centre is failing to repair and return handsets on schedule, but tells us the problems will soon disappear thanks to its new service centre.
Until then some HTC customers are being asked to wait almost two months for fixes that were promised in 10 days, and they are the lucky ones. Others report that HTC lost their handsets entirely, only for them to turn up a week later along with promises of deliveries which never arrive, and collections that don't get collected.

Guess where my Desire is at present?
:(
Oh well, that should increase iPhone sales.
That's not a good advert, is it?
It certainly puts me off buying.
I called HTC today, my phone should be returned next week, along with a gift of my choice from the HTC accessory store to the value of £50.
:fingers: :fingers: :fingers: :fingers: :fingers: Have you decided on the gift yet? :)
I have asked for an Otterbox case.
I thought trapping otters was illegal. ;)
It's to keep them out.
;D
That's pretty good of them, I guess.
The otters? ;D
Better than a litter box I guess
I call them waste bins, Gary. ;D

Good offer though Otterbox cass are good, but can be bulky, great protection for what you do Glenn.
Last week I had an email promising the phone back, on or before 25/05/11. It was repaired on the 23rd, since then it's been awaiting dispatch the customer service chap wasn't any help either. :rant2:
What a pain. I would have thought sending it back would be the easy part. :(
thats pretty shocking service and i'm surprised at HTC.
glad mines working ok atm fingers crossed !
Apparently it's been sent out for delivery today, if I'm very luck, the driver will turn up in the 30 minute window when I'm at home this afternoon.
:fingers:
I had an Interlink delivery this morning. They give a one-hour time slot for delivery, which is something I'd like to see other carriers adopt.
It's UPS, and I don't have the tracking number.
Bugger. I've found, here, that UPS are the least reliable carrier.
I've had a few o the interlink deliveries now and have to say their system receives top marks. I get free text messages telling me when the package has been dispatched (ie they've picked it up), and then a text message on the day with the one hour window. On all three occasions they have turned up bang in the middle of the window.
That one hour window is great, isn't it.
It is indeed. It's a shame more retailers don't use Interlink.
They've never quite made it 'big' for some reason.
More expensive? I guess the retailers don't see it from the end customer's point of view, but if people started dropping retailers that used, say, Citylink, in favour of those that use Interlink, the point might be made that we don't have all day to wait in for deliveries.
Good idea, but if they are more pricey, we know from the broadband market that people will opt for cheap. :(

I'd hope I'd be quicker than 1 hour per window. Else I'd be finishing work past 12 at night.
;D
Found, from using a certain very well known online retailer, that Hermes are terrific. If you're out, the card that comes through the door has the mobile number of the driver on it. None of this faffing about with call centres nonsense. (Excepting the excellent IDNet one, natch.)
I think that is because the end delivery is by private individuals in their own vehicles tater than company employed delivery people.
It is, and it works well - at least round here.
It has done here too in the past, but they dont seem very widely used.
