I've just signed up with IDnet and have all the required info to set up my internet access-HOWEVER! I don't have the disc for configuring the Netgear router(chap set it up and forgot to leave the disc! :red:). I've tried to put in the settings manually on my Vista PC but it's not working :bawl:. I'm no PC genius, so if somebody could kindly give me directions as what to put and where, I would be trully grateful, thanks.

There's some Netgear instructions here http://www.idnet.net/support/guides/hardware/netgear_dg834g_vista.jsp If you need further help don't hesitate to ask.
Edit Where it says enter primary and secondary DNS there is an error, it should read 212.69.40.3 for the secondary.
My advice is to never use the disc for setting up routers anyway - there is absolutely no need for it.

Totally agree with Lance, just use your browser, its much simpler :)
Welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:
The disk really is worthless, just access via your browser and you'll be fine. :)

You'll normally be directed to the config screen if you type in www.routerlogin.com into the address bar.
Thanks to all of you for your help with this. I had to talk my 16 year old Daughter through the setup with me in Canada and she is in Scotland and it went without a hitch-Brilliant ;D! Thanks once again folks, I'm sure I would have had a nightmare trying to sort it out any other way :thumb:

There's a menu option on the Netgear somewhere to save the current configuration to a file, may be useful?
Certainly it's something I recommend.
