Went up to Carphone Hellhouse near me on my lunchbreak but the store is closed for a refit.
Went to the store the note on the door refers people to to be greeted by a surly POS who said 'nah we don't do security code resets here' (I've forgotten the security code but have changed it from the default)
I explained that the note on the store door referred me to them and reply 'nah we don't have a Nokia engineer here'
Before I phone Nokia which was a frustrating experience last time I tried, does anyone know of an authorised Nokia places I can send the phone to in order to sort it out?
Is the phone SIM-free, Mitch. If not, could your carrier help?
It is Sim free and bought direct from Nokia.
Someone on a forum I manage offered to send me an app to do it but the guy has a habit of bricking phones so not tempted to use it.
Don't blame you. :(
Going to keep the phone which is why I want to sort it out.
Will go back to it when I've learnt all I need to know about the blackberry as I don't really want to keep paying a sub.
I've used this place http://nokiarepairs.net/ when I needed a screen replacement on my N95. Service was excellent.
Try this, it should bring up some in your area http://www.nokia.co.uk/home/find-a-store/store-locator
Or this lets you fine warranty repair, I imagine if your phone is out of warranty it will tell you what to do hopefully http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/repair/repair/warranty?c=1
Thanks Gary, cant get the first to load but will try when I get home as some sites behave weirdly here.
The store with the repair service has reopeened and I finally got this fixed this morning although they charged me a tenner for it.
