Title: FTTC Speed
Post by: sof2er on Apr 30, 2011, 11:48:15
Is it just me or is the FTTC speed slower the last week? Generally getting about 15 to 20 Mbps down from 30-35 mbps whenver I run a speedtest. (Including BT Speedtester)

I've been monitoring my FTTC connection all week and I've not noticed any change except for yesterday where I had the best ever throughput I've had for my current sync speed which is ironic as I expected the Net to be somewhat congested due to the wedding coverage. My latency was extremely low as well :dunno:

Other than that it's been the same pattern as usual for me, full tilt except for after midnight.

No speed losses noticeable here either.

Except for a drop in profile when I accidentally kicked the wrong plug out on the UPS

It normally is pretty kick-proof, but I'd hauled everything out to re-arrange the homeplugs for better speed.

At least that worked- doubled the speed to around 20Mbps :thumb:

I'll try connecting directly to the VDSL modem then tonight.

Well, it seems speed automatically came back to 30mbps+. Must be exchange congestion then as It's a pretty big exchange with 20-30k people.
