Can I sync my iPhone with another iTunes on another computer? I want to transfer some photos and music files (not from iTunes) from my iPhone to a friend's PC. Can it be done, or is my iPhone now 'paired' to my iTunes only?
I can't give you a definitive answer but afaik you are synced to a single PC/account. Some while ago I did manage to do something similar on an iPod by 'hacking' a string in an xml file. I do recall it being quite a protracted affair but successful.
Hopefully someone with a bit more knowledge than me will come along as it was a while ago and I don't really recall much detail.
AFAIK it's best to use some form of app like drop box. I'd not recommend it, as it can delete your entire catalogue on both pc and iphone if you press the wrong button.
I'm probably wrong, because I've never used it. But as it is locked down, it can end up syncing with the friends "empty" pc, then syncing back with your pc, and matching the catalog to "empty". :eek4:
This is why I don't use syncing tools. :dunno:
[edit]
PS, can you use "hdd mode" or something? No drag and drop?
As far as I'm aware you can only sync iPhone "media" with a single iTunes Library.
If you try you could end up wiping your phone out and importing your friends library it may be more complicated as yours is jailbroken as well. As others have said I only think you can sync with one library.
I forgot it was jailbroken, you should be able to access the files directly if you can find them. Something like iPhone Explorer will see the iPhone in 'disk' mode

That's my view too. There is a piece of shareware out there which is supposed to get round it, but it's so bad in function and support that I can't remember its name.
Googling where the files are stored on a jailbroken handset may be your best bet Simon
I used this when mine was Jailbroken (it no longer is) - http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/
I've got iPhone Explorer on my own PC, so I guess I could install that on the friend's PC, but thinking about it, the best idea might be to transfer the files from my iPhone to a memory stick, and do it that way.
Thanks for the advice, guys, I'd have been positively miffed had I wiped my own iPhone!
Copytrans will allow you to do it.
I've got that, but still need to install it. I'll have a play over the weekend. :)

That's the one - it duplicated stuff all over the place. They were looking into it for me but never did get back to me.
