Title: s-video/composite usb netbook winxp win movie maker
Post by: Bucky Balls on Apr 23, 2011, 12:01:25
Hi

I have one of these dongles (http://us.startech.com/product/SVID2USB2-USB-S-Video-and-Composite-Video-Capture-Cable-with-Audio)(USB S-Video and Composite Video Capture Cable with Audio) and am trying to stream/copy home dvd movies onto a netbook (msi u135 dx; os = winxp sp3; intel nm10 express chipset (http://www.intel.com/products/Internet_device/chipsets/NM10/NM10-overview.htm)). Bundled software hangs on attempt to record but plays streamed content ok; windows movie maker just hangs if any attempt to read via composite attempted.

I'm also looking for minimum specifications for laptop/netbook that would be able to record streaming video & audio from various camcorder(s) (not firewire) via usb/s-video or composite.

All and any suggestions welcome. Thanks.
