Hi All
Wonder if anyone has any suggestions about my problem. I am unable to upload any pictures to any websites ie Facebook, ebay, local newspaper classifieds etc. I have tried using Firefox (latest updates) and IE (also fully updated) however seems to work fine going via AOL browser (AOL software only, still on same router/connection to idnet). PC is running XP with all updates, 4GB RAM Intel E7200 dual core. Router is Draytek Vigor 2700VG with wired connection to pc.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Hi Jovin

Do you have another PC/Mac you can try?
I take it you've tried rebooting as things like this can be a temporary condition.

Yes it been this way for a few weeks. Just had a thought tho that it may only be since new router so will try netgear router and see what happens.
Thanks also to Glenn for heads up on trying different pc, made me think it may be router.
By the way, welcome to the forum :karma:

I wonder if the AOL software is causing a clash?
I did wonder that myself, if you are no longer an AOL customer might it be advisable to remove the software because as far as I'm aware you can't access their services using the software outside their network.
Found the cause but havent been able to cure it yet......seems its something to do with the draytek router, put my old netgear router on and all works fine just have to work out now what setting on the draytek is causing the prob.
AOL software has been free to use for a few years now, you only pay if your broadband connection is via AOL. I used to be with them about 10 years ago but my partner has been using the AOL softare and email on this pc for just over 3 years with no problem with connection via Nildram and more recently Idnet.
At least you know where to start looking, but that's still weird.
When router firmware screws up you can get all kinds of interesting things happen, I know my Netgear has in the past.
Might be worth trying to use the reset switch on your Draytek to reset it to factory condition.
That's usually cured the issues I have had with my Netgear.
I've found a hammer to be very good with Netgears too.

Really?

You will need an ADSL modem or router to user our service, for ADSL2+ services you will need an ADSL2+ compatible router. IDNet recommend the Netgear range of routers which are both ADSL and ADSL2+ compatible and come pre configured for Internet access when purchased from us.
 :hehe: :dog:
Any router's firmware can screw up because of the complexity of what its actually doing.

For starters I'd turn off the firewall (temporarily), and see if that works.

I don't always have to agree with IDNet. ;D
My previous Netgear monster would hard-lock and crash if you tried to upload a file bigger than about a few megabytes. It was a bug in the ADSL firmware (not specifically the router part of it).

Glad to see they don't have a thought police department.

Not since they removed the electrodes. ;)
 and ouch!
