Today I find I cannot access my AOL freemail through Firefox. The error message advises me to enable javascript and enable acceptance of cookies. The AOL mail help page gives clear instructions on how to do this in both Firefox and IE8. I have followed them and found that they were set correctly, but still no joy. I have run a system restore to an earlier restore point with no change. Googleing the problem gives the same advice as AOL. I have run Malwarebytes, which found nothing. I have cleared all history and all AOL cookies. Cookies are accepted from other sites. I have used AOL freemail since I left AOL to go to IDNet.without any problems. Have reinstalled Java. Using Windows XP. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or have any ideas what I might try next? :hairpull:
Have you tried a full reboot of the system?

I had but did another and still no change.
Is it just FF, or does it not work with other browsers either. i.e. Opera or chrome?
I have just dug out my netbook and can get in to my AOL mail with it using FF. I have been through all option settings in FF comparing the dektop with netbook. Found just one difference. Tried netbook setting on Desktop and desktop setting on netbook. However changes are not saved. so now trying to find out why.
Thanks for your suggestions Ted. I tried using IE and got in to my mail. Further checks on FF suggested it might have a problem so uninstalled and reinstalled and all is OK now.
Computers, eh. :shake:
Could have been a settings or plug-in. Not a problem with java, as you only reinstalled FF... strange that.
Did FF update itself recently, by any chance? I know in the past that I have suffered from "breakages" due to auto updates, but when you reinstall it properly, it works as it should.
