...has been slow to load for me in the past few days.Just hangs, stop and refresh does nothing.
I usually use bookmark of the login page so it may be that :dunno: try going to IDNet home page and using the link from there straight to forum home page and its quick, try the bookmark straight after and that also is quick.
does the same with Pals if that means any thing
Martin's been working on the server, Baz.

hold on!!!! its rapid as again now
wind the handle quicker Martin ;)
Same here, but everything went like cold molasses for a couple of minutes.
thats ok then.Thought Martin was singling me out for mentioning it ;)
Speed seems to be varying for me too.
It seems to be when a process gets started that hogs the CPU for a while. Database access requests pile up and can even produce the error "Can't connect to database".
Oh yes, had that a little myself when I tinkered with SMF.
Never tinker, Mitch, go for it in a full-blooded way. ;D

That's some process that slows down my connection to the tbb servers as well...
We think big here, Bill. ;D

Just what I am experiencing. CPU appears to be gummed up on the odd occasion. :dunno:
Give it a quick spray. ;)
It seems to have happened at the same time as a big spike of packet loss visible on both Griff's and my BQM graphs in the topic in FTTC... I wish I could convince myself that there isn't a problem in IDNet somewhere.
It's likely your browser process is being tied up while waiting for a full response from IDNet's server.

Does the same thing happen if you go to the IDNet website, Bill?
Can't say, it's all OK again now.
What's causing my doubts is that Griff and I have both brought this up a couple of times on tbb and nobody with another ISP has reported seeing the same thing.
I'll concede that it's not proof, but it's suggestive...
Bill did you have both TBB and netters open at the same time?
Yes, and several other tabs, but I only had time to check the tbb and IDNet ones.
I did leave a possible source out of the thinking- tbb. Some comments over there on Griff's WinMTR figures are causing me to think...
I thought that was my stomach rumbling, Bill. ;D
It's more a grinding of gears noise at this end :P
;D
Just seen Griff's figures in FTTC... doesn't look like tbb are involved.
Who shall we blame then?
I'm not blaming anybody at the moment... all I'm saying is that I haven't seen any evidence that IDNet can't be to blame.
You sound like a politician, Bill. ;D
It's all the fault of politicians.
Always. ;D

I don't want to unfairly or unnecessarily blame IDNet, they're a damn good ISP and I really hope it isn't them. Apart from anything else I'd much rather blame BT :P
But at the moment, I think IDNet have to be in the list of suspects...
I've forgotten, what is it we're suspecting?
The long spikes of high latency shown up on some BQM graphs.
Not, as Ray demonstrated, confined to FTTC users.
Thanks, Bill.
