If you use Quidco, there is an extra 3% cashback at Comet http://www.quidco.com/comet/?ac
I'd go elsewhere personally as everything I've ever bought from them has broken down very quickly.

No we don't :)
Beware of the Iomega drives I've heard complaints about reliability
In light of my own recent issues might I suggest the seagate ones as they look to be horizontally mounted instead of vertical. (less strain on the heads)

The problem with Samsung generally at the moment is reliability, since they started farming out production to the far east, and that includes TV's Etc
So not that one then :)
SEAGATE 3.5IN 1TB EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE
at Comet looks OK , little more expensive but still a good buy for a 1TB :thumb:
Here's mine Jill
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Western-Digital-Elements-Desktop-External/dp/B002E7HEVU/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1296410543&sr=8-8
I have 3 WD hd and had them for years and they have never let me down.
I think your very unlucky to have any hard disk failure within the warranty period.

My view with buying a 1.5TB is that if it goes belly up, you've lost the lot. I prefer a few smaller ones, then you don't lose everything.
Very wise, imo.
Poor Jill, probably feeling even more dizzy than normal from spinning round on that chair.
;D
Yes I do and the wine didn't help! ;D
Thanks all :thumb: I've used Lona's link :thumb:
Had a fright this morning as I had lost Windows, my youngest son is always very quick to suggest a reinstall :eek4: I asked why he had so many A levels  within an hour he had found the computer's brain ;D So if I'm not here tomorrow you will know why! son will be at work :D and I will be pacing the floor!
Always worth trying repair mode in Windows setup before declaring it dead.
Couldn't get to it.
If you have a Windows CD or DVD insert it and it'll usually offer if it detects a Windows install.
Do have one, but that wouldn't work either! not sure what son did :dunno:
Arrived this morning, so I will be busy :thumb: but can I trust it :D
:fingers: :)
Well it's doing it's job :fingers: having a good clear out! haven't a clue why I keep hold of all this junk
Because we can? We all do it, Jill.
;D
I have six plugs and I'm still short! I hate trailing wires :shake:
I've lost count in here.
You can never have too many plugs! I always insist in a double in each corner but that's not counting what the pc needs ;D
If I can, on the next house, I'll have a row of points along an entire wall. :)
