Title: Accessing email
Post by: denny on May 06, 2007, 14:59:35
Is there a way to access my email when the idnet customer account login page is not working? i.e can I go straight to the webmail?

Indeed you can, or you can use any POP3 mail client.

For idnetfreemail addresses, the web interface is as:
http://www.webmail.idnet.net/index.mml?SignonProduct=GMS%20WebMail&language=

For idnet.com addresses, it's:
http://webmail.idnet.com/

Are there problems with the freemail interface at the moment? Using the link you give I enter the full email address and password. Just get a message saying cannot log you in. Check you have used full email adress and password.

There appears to be a problem, I got the same error message. I'll let support know.

AFTERTHOUGHT: What version of Java are you running, Roland?

Same here, but I just tried my laptop, which hasn't been updated and the same thing happens, so it's not the Java version (was a bit of a long shot).

EDIT - Just copied this post to a more relevant thread:
http://www.idnetters.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,2379.0.html

I moved from the idnetfreemail.co.uk to idnet.com a few weeks ago. I use Outlook at home but use the webmail when away. A few observations:

1. I sometimes used to have trouble navigating idnetfreemail. Links (especially to inbox) not working and sometimes it crashing internet explorer. I was told by idnet that the application was quite demanding for low spec pcs. I found a way of accessing my inbox was to click on another box e.g. sent items and then use the search facility available there to look for mails addressed to me.

2. I have recently been to Cuba and also tried to look at my mail at Gatwick Airport. Each time I entered www.webmail.idnet.com I got a message back to say that the URL could not be found. However if I entered the address into Google it took me straight there. Reported this to idnet yesterday.

3. I also noticed a couple of recent spams come thru on idnet.com for the first time - had started to get a lot on idnetfreemail and that was the main reason for changing. Was told that the spam filters occasionally get taken down for a short while when fixes are being applied.
