Estimated time to resolve: 2hrs
We are aware of a temporary Network problem that may be causing some users difficulties accessing the Internet. Our engineers are working to resolve this problem and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
No service in Reading either. Been down for over an hour now. No word from idnet yet though
01189 dialling code? That is on the BT status list.
Actually since I posted that I'm seeing web pages loading very slow, incorrectly or not at all. I've noticed my sisters other half logging in and out of msn too, so maybe there is a problem. That list doesn't have my area code though.
My code is on that list... no problems here :fingers: :fingers: :fingers:
Brief (~60 second) loss of PPP at about 20:17, but that's all.
Beginning to be a regular occurrence with idnet now. May need to change ISP

The recent outages were nothing to do with IDNet, they have no control over BT.
Are you on the list above?
Hi cn_1001 :welc: :karma:
As Ted has said, the Reading fault will effect any ISP using BT's backbone.
Mine isn't on there still, but 01977 is which is one digit out from mine. I have no idea where 01977 is though :D

On the list - been having some slowness and incorrect page loads this evening.
I agree its not IDNet's fault, but nonetheless the service has been annoyingly "flaky" recently, after a period of being very good.
It's sad in a way that loss of service impacts so heavily these days - I think it's time to coax my Linux boot to dial up via a MODEM as an emergency backup - all assuming BT can keep the basic 'phone line connected :shake:

The fact that BT managed to unplug both of IDNet's Host links and disconnect every customer for hours, has certainly not done their reputation any good.
You may want to check out the thread regarding Gmail\youtube. If you think this is your problem, change your servers to Norton's 198.153.192.1 and 198.153.194.1
Dialling code 01189 so was on the list. Back up now though. Just annoying as I was doing some xmas shopping online when it went down. BT are becoming increasingly frustrating with these outages
It's just as frustrating for IDNet. :( :welc: :karma:

It seems BT are breaking under the strain of stretching the network to the limits, then increasing the speed on equipment that is now playing show and tell >:(
Maybe the boss from Virgin Media has come to BT to show them how to cripple a network and have adverts bordering on outright lying :D

The fault was BT and affected many areas and suppliers, it is NOT anything to do with IDNet.

Alas people will not see it that way Dorset, unless they come here :( tbh Idnet have had their fair share of tough love from the BT recently, bad luck etc but it will put people off.

It seems they still blame the ISP even after they have been told where/what the issue is and the BT status pages are available for all to check, they are freely available and referenced here several times.

People just want it to work, same as they don't blame the National Grid when the power goes down Dorset. Saying that I don't see a message about that email on Idnets main page to be fair :(
