Title: Migration - Speed and VOIP
Post by: Ardua on Apr 24, 2007, 19:52:39
I am thinking of migrating to IDNet. Currently, I have a very stable line which syncs at 8128. Download speeds vary as appears standard with Max ADSL but are usually in the range 4 to 6Mbps. I use Skype a lot with a Philips VOIP 841 DECT phone connected to a Netgear DG834G router. This works very well. Can I confidently move with confidence to IDNet? Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum Ardua,

I can't see why you would have any problems. An IDNet connection has no restrictions on any ports, no traffic shaping and no contention in the IDNet network. I know a few other users use Skype and don't have any problems at all.

Basically, if you are not having problems now, you most certainly won't with IDNet (BT permitting of course :) ).
