Title: Drops in MK?
Post by: pctech on Nov 11, 2010, 10:37:55
Had two drops in the last two mornings around 9 a.m. so after any BT PEW and have lost about 350k in sync.

Anyone else?

Not here, Mitch, but there are planned works tonight, likely to affect everyone.

Should I take the router offline tonight do you think?

Your call, Mitch. If BT do the job properly, you won't get a stale session. OTOH...

I'll end the session and pull the power in the hope I can recover the lost sync rate too.

I think BT have proved over the past few weeks they can't be trusted to even perform the most simple of tasks.

That does, genuinely, include changing a light bulb, Mitch. :)

My connection seemed a bit sluggish at times this morning too so maybe they've started early.

Anyway I'm off tomorrow so will see what happens, might need to put a call into Zen.

If I'm not here, you know my session staled. ;)

At least you can have a day off Rik.

I'll just switch to the other line, Mitch, it won't be affected. ;)

No stale sessions but looks like I had another drop about 10 hours ago.

Zen were apparently moving people off the faraday node and then moving them back when the maintenance was over so it could have been that I suppose.

You need to tell them accounts are fragile, they could break when dropped.

Looks like I'm down to 1.9 Meg.

Throughput or sync, Mitch?

Zen Portal says I'm down to a 2272 sync with BRAS profile of 2000, router indicates 2752 sync and TBB speed test indicates 1907 as throughput.

The profile's right for the syc speed, Mitch, either of them. 1907 on a 2M profile is not at all bad. What were you getting?

Just short of 2.4 Meg

Sync?
Title: Re: Drops in MK?

Sorry throughput with 2912 sync reported by router.

So you've lost a few hundred k on the sync, has the NM increased?
Title: Re: Drops in MK?
Post by: pctech on Nov 12, 2010, 18:48:16
NM currently 8.3 and was about 7.7 yesterday and seems hover around the 7 mark normally.

If it falls any further I'll put a call in I think.

I was thinking more of manually resyncing in the morning, Mitch and see if you can't make the profile step that way.

I'll give it a go.
