As some may know, I've had a few issues with BT recently. Today I've come home to find they've connected me, but weren't able to issue my old number at the same time. So my question is, is it quicker and/or easier for me to wait for BT to try and give me my old number back or is it quicker/easier for IDNet to edit my account for my newer number?
I'll be moving house in 4 weeks so not worried particularly about the number for the sake of a couple of weeks.
If you have a new number, afaik, you'd have to pay the £47 activation fee, Pez. Check with IDNet to be certain, but I'm reasonably sure. It's a physical connection that's required, so BT will raise the charge. Lead time is about 5 working days.
It would take a couple of weeks to move the line to IDNet to start with...

I don't mean for me to get an IDNet home phone, just change my current connection info from oldnumber@idnet.gw5 too newnumber@idnet.gw5 (at the same address)
If that ID is allowing you access, why not stick with it?

The log on username can be changed pretty quickly I think, although the way the system works if is your line is enabled for IDNet, then any valid IDNet username and password will work.
ok. I was under the impression that it had to be the number that was assigned. So as I'm not able to connect atm is it a BT issue that I'm not broadband enabled?
