I have to access a secure web site as part of my business on line and have to log in via a certificate that I downloaded on to my computer from the host. All has been well until the weekend when my computer could no longer access' the certificate and I can therefore not log onto the site. In the past Windows always asked if I wanted to continue but now this message no longer comes up. HELP
Can you not download a fresh copy of the certificate, Den?
Whats the exact wording of the error Den?
And did you have to register for your own certificate?

I can ask them to send me one to download (I most likely will for my laptop now as I need it everyday).

It just will not let me access the site and windows states that I either have no internet or a cable has broken, but I'm on the internet at the time so that does not make sense, :dunno:

Yes, this one is valid upto the end of November.
Oh right so its issued up by the company, you have not had to purchase one yourself?
Is it still present in the certificate store?
Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Content > Certificates.
Yes it's still there and nothing appears to have changed. In the past I would just click on the web link, the permission would then be required and then it would log on and ask for my passwords. But now I don't even get the question for permission.
Have you got a copy you could import?

No, I have to re apply for a new one and then I have to contact the right IT guy there. :eyebrow:
Sounds like it could have become corrupted which would of course mean it couldn't understand the stream from the server.
Sorry I cant help further Den, might be advisable to make a backup just in case next time.
Thanks for trying anyway, if I can make time in the day tomorrow I will have to apply for a new one and hope it will work again. ::)
No problem mate, anytime.
After much hair pulling (and I have not got much hair) it turns out the problem was at their end and not my computers fault. I was able to log on as normal tonight. Thanks for all your help.
Typical, Den, you only find out once you've gone bald. ;)
If that was the case I would know everything
;D

Np Den, as you know, anything to do with computing and electronics is a process of elimination.
