BT engineer just turned up.....completely unannounced but hey ho....
He went away to the cab for 10 minutes, came back, plugged in new faceplate and modem.....job done, 10 mins he was here, couldn't have been better.
Here's a speedtest I just did -

:nana: ;D
FTTC cab only went live 2 days ago according to the engineer, so I guess I just wait for all the other people in my area to be upgraded and watch the speed go down? :fingers:
Yup. Shouldn't be too bad, though, unless people start downloading the entire web at peak times.
Congrats. ;)
Hi,
I was installed yesterday too. If you have an outstanding VDSL install it's worth checking with support to see if they have an appointment as I wasn't expecting BT either but the install went just as smoothly!
Whilst I'm very impressed and speeds are great, I do feel a little out of control now compared to my ADSL! ;-)
Can anyone tell me, is there a way of interrogating the VDSL modem to establish what I'm synced at? Instructions on the net seem very scarce!
Thanks in advance.

The Openreach modem is a modified Huawei VDSL2 modem and currently there's no way at all to access any line stats.
Welcome to the forums by the way! :thumb:

Best bet is to use the BT Speedtest until someone hacks the Openreach modem.
