Title: Router on the decline?
Post by: pctech on Oct 10, 2010, 12:09:30
Just logged into my router and was looking at the stats and noticed the sync rate hadn't risen for about 5 days even though it had been perectly stable.

So rebooted the router and it shot up from 2912 Kbps to 3136 Kbps so was just wondering why it hasn't increased of its own accord.

Any ideas or is it in the early stages of cashing in its chips?

Why would it, Mitch? Unless there was an external event to trigger a resync, a small change like that wouldn't have any effect than to show as extra noise margin.

I just thought it might register the increase in sync.

You may find that the increase is due to the attenuation decreasing, as the cooler weather approaches.

The sync wouldn't have changed though, Mitch. Between resyncs, the variation will show in the noise margin. Only a forced resync, by BT resetting something or by you would produce a new sync speed.

Ah right.
