Title: Download/Throughput Test
Post by: .Griff. on Sep 29, 2010, 18:08:26
If our resident FTTC users could try the following I'd be interested in the results.

Test File - http://www.idnet.net/100MB_nonzero.bin

Speed/Throughput monitor - http://www.thinkbroadband.com/tbbmeter.html (Scaling set to automatic and update set to 0.25 seconds)

If you could download that file and take a screenshot of TBBmeter once it's downloaded it should show the peak speed achieved and more importantly how consistent the throughput was.

Feel free to repeat the test at different times of the day, to factor in/out congestion, and post back as many screenshots as you want.

It may be beneficial to do the test over a wired connection and to disconnect any other devices from the router temporarily.

The resulting screenshot will look something like this example -

Not entirely sure what's wrong with TBB, however the download was giving 4.12 MB/s

and here's a speedtest
