I've never heard of it. Probably one of the reasons they went down the tubes, so to speak.

And Chrome :)

Bookmark sync is nowadays considered to be a "must-have" feature and slowly all the modern browsers are incorporating this element into their basic feature set.
XMarks when first released was a firestarter. It was a good program which did what they set out to do. Initially, users were concerned about their bookmark privacy and during the life of Xmarks, that was always a factor but the service they provided (and for free too, might I add) was extremely useful for those of us who used multiple computers.

It's always a sad day when established tools like this shuts down.

I'm still waiting for bookmark sync between Google Chrome and my Google Android Device. Hurry up please Google!

After a near-brush with shutting down, we're now happy to report that Xmarks has been acquired by LastPass, the leading password and data manager.

The acquisition means two things for Xmarks users:

1.   Xmarks is NOT shutting down! It will continue to be the same free service that you know and love.

2.   Xmarks now offers a Premium service for $12 per year that includes the iPhone and Android apps, advanced features, and priority support.

We hope that as an active Xmarks user, you will consider upgrading to Xmarks Premium to gain access to these features. Your support will not only ensure our long-term viability, but will also help accelerate the introduction of new features and service improvements.

We're excited to continue providing the best data-syncing tools out there!

Thanks,
The LastPass and Xmarks Teams

No where on the net gets to store anything of mine     , FEBE allows me to keep bookmarks and other browser settings common across the network.
