Anything in the event logs?

What are the specs of the machine?

The yellow next to the ethernet controller probably means it needs the specific drivers provided by the Motherboard manufacturer

You certainly need to sort out the driver issue as that could well be the cause of your problems. As Steve says, they could well be mobo specific. Something else I would certainly try is to see if this happens in another browser. which browser are you currently using as a matter of interest?

As the others have said, checkout the motherboard manufacturers site for drivers.

Have you tried turning off the computer and disconnecting the powerlead for a few seconds?  This sometimes works funnily enough, worth trying anyway.

Not that easy unfortunately as manufacturers have a habit of using different controllers on different board models.

Do you have the model nunber of your mobo?

Have you tried shutting down the machine and disconnecting from the mains?  The reasonI have said this is that i have a Gigabyte board and lost connection through the Lan card, I re-installed the drivers but still no connection, I then shut down the machine and turned thepwoer off from behind I then re-started and itconnecetd withour problems from then on. This was with Windows XP, however, but it couldbe a similar phenomenum with Vista and win 7.  No harm in trying it.

it's a long shot but try going to properties for your network controller in device manager and throttling it to 10 mbs, then download the driver.

i had this work with a win 7 machine before.
