Title: Ever wondered exactly what runs at boot time?
Post by: DorsetBoy on Sep 25, 2010, 09:31:00
:red: :red: and I thought I had things battened down .

Saw this application recommended by a tech at avast!forum, a member was complaining about a slow booting Win7 with errors shown in the logs but he could not find the cause.

It is still in Beta but it appears to work well, basically it tests your boot time, records all the running items and shows the garbage which can be either delayed, paused or left in boot and advises on what other users have done. The number of updaters that get switched back on with each update is amazing, having stopped the services previously you update and the things are back in boot again

I'm more worried about how many coffees I need at boot up time  ;)

I know what you mean, Dorset. Too often software asks no permissions and ignores previous changes you have made. It's hugely annoying.
