Title: Loss of routing?
Post by: jameshurrell on Sep 21, 2010, 11:15:57
Anyone else just experience two bouts of lost routing? Sync stayed up, PPP session stayed up, but all contact with outside world was lost on the entire LAN. Similar to the probs of a couple of weeks ago...

It briefly came back, then went again. Looks OK Now though..................

Had me worried, I'd just installed some software that I couldn't get to activate, so I uninstalled it, then had no internet!  :eek4:

Maybe it's this, which I didn't notice at first glance, on the IDNet network status page:

2010-09-21 09:13: As part of our network optimisation program, we are moving a transit connection from one core router to another today to further optimise our routing. We don't expect to be any disruptions to broadband connections but there maybe a brief period of routing inconsistencies whilst the new routes propagate.

Everything was Glenn. Is it me or is there just more BT glitches these days? Of course it could be iDNet but BT do seem to have  a lot of failures recently

Yes, my Internet access was gone for 10 minutes though my landline was connected just fine to the local exchange.
