Title: New ADSL2+ circuit, still training or not?
Post by: Inkblot on Sep 18, 2010, 19:18:39
Recently had a new IDNet circuit installed at work (Previously used BT and/or Easynet) and the stats are currently:

Mode                State               Up Speed   Down Speed   SNR Margin  Loop Att.
ADSL2+(G.992.5)   SHOWTIME   884000   11509000   3   40

The router (Vigor 2820) has only been connected since Thursday AM so I believe that I am in the training period still*, what speeds will I be looking towards once it settles?

*The circuit went live 2 weeks ago but nothing was connected to it until Thursday - does the training start with the circuit or with the 1st usage?

If that attenuation is accurate then your current sync is about as good as you'll get.

The training requires a live connection, Inky.

Ah, thanks for that. Have to confess that I was hoping for a little more (We have a BT circuit in an office <100m away that gives 16m down, 1.3m up) but it's better than the old ADSL2 circuit we had previously so nobody is complaining :)

Thanks for the infor Rik, I was pretty sure that was the case but thought it best to ask!
