Post by: cs on Sep 13, 2010, 15:23:37
Just got back from hols to find this.......

I'm hoping its an FTTC box, can anyone confirm?

The Idnet number checker says my exchange is not scheduled for FTTC.....maybe its wrong?

It certainly looks like one to me, and the exchange list doesn't always prove to be correct, so I'd be looking forward to a fast Xmas present if I were you.

Do you live in S.Yorkshire? If so then it will be part of the Digital Region fibre network. Nothing to do with BT hence it wont appear on any lists/checkers.

If it is DR then they only have 4 ISP's signed up at the moment and IDNet isn't one of them worse luck  :'(

Is that actually your garden, or just some public property next to it? As if it's in your garden, do you not have permission to plug in straight away!  :rub:

Swindon is on this (http://www.openreach.co.uk/orpg/products/nga/fttc/downloads/FTTC%20roll%20out%20ph%204b-5%20exchanges%20for%20delivery%20by%202011-03-31.pdf) list, Dec 2010.

That list means little... my exchange was listed as September, my connection went live on 24th August and I think it was actually available about ten days before that.

Yeah I wish it was! Thats my wall behind and my garden is the other side of that.

Technically speaking its touching my wall and I certainly didn't give permission for that, not sure about the legality of that?

Good news, I found a map on the BT Infinity page and that says my exchange should be live on 30th Sept....thats less than 3 weeks!   Woot!

Anyone know if I can I pre-order with IDNet and get an engineer date booked just after that?
