Title: DOS Attacks
Post by: wecpcs on Aug 27, 2010, 20:13:19
Over the last couple of weeks in my router logs, I have been getting several DOS attacks from one address in particular (58.218.204.110), to my IDNet IP address. I have used used WHOIS to try and track it down and it appears to come from China Telecom. Although my Netgear router is blocking it, I have also added it to my routers list of blocked addresses. On one day this week in my logs (whilst playing an offline game, Just Cause 2 in Steam), I had several outgoing requests from my main PC's IP address to this same site, which was also blocked because I had added to the list of blocked addresses. I then thought why is my PC trying to go to this site, but Malwarebytes and Norton Internet Security 10 show no problems. I am now getting very paranoid about this, so I thought could anyone shed any light on this for me.
