Just when we thought we were safe... :shake:
It's taken me 10 minutes to post that! Now you know why I don't often start topics from my phone!
Just the link, or is there some other issue when starting a topic?
10 minutes may have been a slight exaggeration, but copying and pasting the text, and the link, is quite fiddly.
I can imagine. Now, a netbook and a dongle...
If you turn off the geo location thing in Firefox, that can't work, so it's not as much of a problem as they claim. Also, if you have your router set to not respond to incoming requests other than that of the PCs on your network, how can it get the info?
I still think the instructions to disable it sound more like instruction to enable it.
It also depends on the router being used for a wireless network.
Google can scan all they like here, there is no signal for them to find.
Who care's if they can find out where you live, You can find that out online without doing stuff to the router.
You can find out where I live easy..
Have fun ;D
Or, you can walk down the street, and see PEOPLE. Real life ones. You know when the rubbish turns up, when they leave, when they go to the loo... ahem.
Secure your browser and router and you will be ok. What's this geo location thing in firefox then?
