Can someone try facebook, please. "downforeveryoneorjustme" says it's up, but, computer says no!
Thanks
This is working for me Ted http://en-gb.facebook.com/
Works for me too.
Still doesn't work here, Anna says it was working fine this morning. No problems with anything else. I'll see what happens later.
Cheers
Just been informed (shouted at across the house ) that it's up again. So panic over! ;D
I presume youngsters use facebook when shouting no longer elicits a response. >:D
OK here too, Ted.
When this happens, always a good idea to try:
Clearing the DNS cache
If you are using Windows XP:
Go to Start > Run and type cmd, then click OK
At the prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter
Windows should confirm that the cache has been flushed, click the X button to close the window.
If using Vista
Go to Start (Windows logo in a circle) > All Programs > Accessories
Right-click Command Prompt and left click on Run As Administrator
At the prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and press enter
Windows should confirm that the cache has been flushed, click the X button to lose the window.

Mostly I just "cock a deaf ear" ;D But when they follow you around the house, looking like the end of the world is nigh, I feel obliged to do something!
Just went down a few minutes ago, I'm sure it's facebook but I changed to Open DNS and it came straight back up. Probably coincidence, I'll keep an eye on it. I'm sure I'll be "informed" if it goes down again. :eyebrow:
;D
Somehow I think you will, Ted.

100% guaranteed! ;)
I'll be surprised if it does go down as its spread over thousands of servers in several countries.
DNS server issue?

Yeah, it's an odd one. Never had a problem before, and the girls have used it almost non stop for years! DNS is all I can think of, pretty sure it's not the router or IDNet. Let's see how Open DNS goes. TBH. I'm sure it's just a "glitch" somewhere.
Oh, to be 14 with friends on the internet, that you can't contact, even though they only live round the corner! :slap:

And don't even get me started on mobile phones!!!
OpenDNS should be ok as like facebook it is a heavily load balanced service.
Most ISPs may only have or two clusters of DNS servers.
Might be worth flagging to support if one of the DNS nodes is on the blink.

I was in sixth form college when mobiles started to take off after PAYG was introduced.
We amusing to see two people texting each other from either side of the same room.
;D
I've seen that happen too, makes you want to explain talking to them, doesn't it. :)

I had a PAYG mobile too but it was funded by my parents so I had to use it very sparingly.
When I was at school, many, maybe most, homes didn't have phones.

We didn't have one till after I'd started working.
We had one quite early, but only because dad worked for the GPO.

Facebook always does this. It can be down for me, but my sister will be able to access it fine. Sometimes I can access it on my IDnet account and not on my iphone, and vice versa. Facebook is very cr*ppy at times.
