Title: The phone with the real flaw? It’s not the iPhone 4, it’s your Android!
Post by: Simon on Jul 20, 2010, 21:00:47
So Apple has made its defence. Whether right or wrong, wise or foolish, the media circus rolls on. This blog isn't going to cover that. Instead, this blog will discuss the most consistent comment we get when we talk about the iPhone 4:

"Why don't you buy an HTC Desire/Dell Streak/other-as-yet-unreleased Android handset? You can hold that any way you like!" [presumably accompanied by self-congratulatory smirk.]

In response to this, there's one very simple reason why I won't, at this point in time, be buying an Android handset, and it's one that I consider to be more damning than a rare, entirely avoidable signal drop.

Hmm...
PC pro is missing the point of the lack of service some (even if it's only a few people) are getting there completely.
Not being able to make a call does not equal getting the software update a little later than everyone else. This is not even Androids fault. It's Orange. If they did not [Insert a word here that's impolite] the phones software with their logos, they would not need to change the Android OS anyhow. And example is HP. I had to wait 2 years for a graphics card driver update from them, because they refused to use standard ones. Is that ATI's fault? No, it's HPs. Was I angry at ATI? No I still but their stuff.

If your pc shut down occasionally would you tell people to get over it? Or would we try to help them?  :dunno:

It's definitely typical of Orange. :(

Orange are notorious for this which is why I debranded my nokia 5800 so I could get updates earlier than half a year later or whatever...i didnt wait to see!

Which is why when I get my new HTC it will be with anyone but orange!

Glad I'm not the only one who notices. As I trained as a graphic designer I notice all the logos being out of place and the wrong type or resolution. When the phones upgrade, T-mobile, Orange and Vodaphone just stick in all the old monochromatic logos.  :slap:
O2 is only slightly better. But tends to put one big extra button in the middle of the screen that takes you to their website when you do not want to.  :shake:
