More HTML 5 support

The cross machine sync of bookmarks etc will be a useful addition

At least they have at last stopped calling it FF3.7 Beta 5  :thumb:

I have been running 3.7 betas for some time and find them a big improvement on 3.6

EDIT:

I have removed 3.7.b.5 and put 4.b.1 on instead, it has automatically installed the bookmarks, cookies etc.  This post is from 4.b.1

Most addons are disabled since they are not marked as FF4 compatible, but that is easily overcome.

Not sure why one page says Mac and Linux version later, it's here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html

But I dont want a windows interface. One of the reasons I switched to Firefox was to get away from that look. I hope you can turn it off :(

I don't like the new tab location, I can see me closing the entire application rather than opening a new tab. And where are 'File' 'Edit' 'View' etc. buttons?

Everything else looks good but the new design layout is pants.

Everything in FF is configurable, to change the Tab Bar position go View > Toolbars and then untick "Tabs on Top"

If you can't see the menu bar, press ALT and it will appear, then go to view, Toolbars and tick the menu bar option. :thumb:

I'll wait for it to be released, I rarely use betas, released software has enough bugs  ;)

Doesn't hurt to have a play.  It doesn't have to be the default browser.  :)

I am a great believer in waiting for the final version Simon, if its working now, don't fix it till I need to  ;)

you could be right there Steve  :( same with hardware, after all testing with the general public is far cheaper and more comprehensive as well

Maybe when it goes wrong we should give them a bill for the testing period thus far along with bugs we find  ;D

and  :thnks:

Over the last 6 months or so I've come to rather rely on Firefox mainly because of the Firebug plugin which I now use everyday. Like Gary I'll probably hang fire before upgrading and let everyone else find the bugs  ;D

I always have Beta versions of open source software running alongside the official releases, the bug reporting tool help make the finished program all the better.
