I've been bowled over by my speed since upgrading to ADSL2+, the 2700 indicated that there is an Alcatel chipset at the exchange and read several places that having the same chipset in the router improves performance and I'd like to try and wring more speed out of the line so wondered whether this was a myth or whether it worked?
I've heard it work the other way i.e incompatible with each other but I think that's often solved by firmware updates
I think it stems from 02/BE LLU. Apparently they use use Broadcom equipment in the exchanges, and Broadcom chipset routers seem to achieve the highest downstream sync rate with them.
