Title: Undelivered Mail Returned To Sender
Post by: abd08 on Jun 30, 2010, 20:25:01
Hi All,

Just tried sending an email and had it bounced back. Not seen the below error before.. can anyone help? We run our own exchange server and use IDNETs smtp server as a 'smart host'.
-----------------------------------------------
This is the mail system at host mail-in.idnet.com.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that your message could not
be delivered to one or more recipients. It's attached below.

For further assistance, please send mail to postmaster.

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the attached returned message.

                   The mail system

<xxxxx@fpt.vn>: host isp-mta1.fpt.vn[210.245.0.172] said: 550 5.7.1
<xxxxx@fpt.vn>: Recipient address rejected: Mail appeared to be SPAM
or forged. Ask your Mail/DNS-Administrator to correct HELO and DNS MX
settings or to get removed from DNSBLs; please relay via your ISP
(mydomain.com) (in reply to RCPT TO command)
--------------------------------------------------
Any guidance appreciated

Thanks!
Raj

Raj, I had a similar issue yesterday with Spamcop, email support with a copy of the error, they should be able resolve the problem.

Somewhat concerningly though, I've found that e-mail I send today *keeps* bouncing back. From the headers of two messages I've just sent, I see the following:

Quote212.69.36.215 is listed at safe.dnsbl.sorbs.net; Currently Sending Spam

Looking on the SORBS website (http://www.au.sorbs.net/lookup.shtml?212.69.36.215), it does indeed appear that mail-in.idnet.com has been put on their 'blacklist', which means that some mail-servers are currently blocking any messages sent through the IDnet SMTP server.

Stuart.
