Title: SE Elm anyone?
Post by: pctech on Jun 24, 2010, 22:41:13
While I'm still on the lookout for the grey C5 I've looked at this phone too as I noted it was HD Voice (WAMR) ready.

Anyone have one, whats the build and call quality like?

Not me.  I've found SE very disappointing lately.  I'd want to see some very good reviews before considering another.

I did order an SE W880i from O2 a couple of years back after having a K800i (quite an elderly model by then so all of the hardware bugs should have been quashed or so you'd think) and tried to use it but it appears the speaker was not shielded from the antenna so I got a deafening buzzing like you get if you move a mobile near a speaker while talking on it so it went straight back.

I have to say I am losing patience with Nokia's so called Customer Care, I have now asked several times when the C5 Warm Grey is going to be available on their site as not interested in the White one and they keep referring me back to the website.

I don't think the Nokia staff get any info. The release dates tend to be both secret and mobile (as in move about ;) ).
This is to hide from competitors their plan. To keep ahead of the game. And to drive demand for the latest product.
I can totally understand if you dislike Nokia, but please give the poor staff a little bit of consideration.  :thumb:

I don't dislike Nokia which is why I want to buy a phone from them  :) but yes that would make sense.

I originlly placed a preorder from Play but am a bit dubious as note all their phones say SIM free unlocked so may indicate grey stock which has been reflashed which of course means Nokia wouldn't touch it in the event of an issue as the product code which denotes colour, model and operator specific firmware would have had to be changed to get the updater to install non-branded firmware.

I'll keep my eyes open on their site for a couple of months.
