Title: Maplins AOC 22in and 23.6 in Full HD monitors
Post by: coreservers on Jun 24, 2010, 14:19:12
This is a cautionary tale. I was away to buy one of these monitors in Maplins.

Good prices 22in £129.99 23.6 £159.99

Got the chap to unbox one (always, always do this) and low and behold, only 1 analogue VGA input. So I queried the poor chap, as to how, as the item description claimed they were perfect for watching blue-rays, this would be possible, as without HDCP control, the protected contect will not play, and that this isnt possible through an analogue display.

So if you fancy a non full HD monitor..... buy one, but they are flimsy as well. best stick with known brands.

Good to check. I always do. I was even googling (on wiki) the difference between DVI and DVA inputs when I was looking for a PC monitor. You would be surprised in the different quality from the two.
