Title: Migration process
Post by: davidc on Jun 23, 2010, 17:33:45
Grateful for a bit of clarification on an aspect of the isp migration process.

On Monday (21 June) I was notified by IDNET that migration would take place in 5 working days.  Can anyone tell me, please, how I know when to enter the new IDNET login and password details into my wireless router?  Do I just wait for the broadband router to stop working or is there a more sophisticated way to know when to add the new details?  I've had a look at the IDNET faqs but couldn't see this covered.

Thanks.

They would normally give you an activation date, so you might want to check. They will send you an email on completion, which can be up to 6pm. If they've already sent you your login details, then you can set up email addresses, web space etc in the interim.

There's often a period of overlap between old and new, so the only way you know for sure is to try logging in with your IDNet details. Most migrations are just a few strokes of the keyboard and happen in the small hours. :)
