Just had a quick look through my router and wondered if these statistics are ok for the speed I'm getting. My router is connected to the main socket just 2 feet away and my machine is connected via ethernet cable. Just thought I'd ask for an opinion.

You could perhaps do better,your downstream is elevated at 14.8 from a default of 6 which theoretically is losing you 1500kps off your downstream sync.
On a good line you ought to be getting closer to 5000kbps with a downstream attenuation of 49db.
Your downstream SNR is showing at 14.8 which probably means the DLM has raised your target from the standard 6db to 15db, this is accounting for the reduction in synch speed to 3392 that your line is achieving. Its impossible to assess the levels of errors from those stats since it doesn't say how long the routers been up for, but for the DLM to have increased the target then it must have been seeing a significant level of errors.
Now, is there anything you can do to improve it ? yes, if we can find the cause of the errors and eliminate it then your target SNR will, eventually!, drop and your synch speed will improve.
Well, you say you are connected to the main socket, but do you have any other sockets ?
What, if anything, is plugged into the other sockets ? and are they all filtered ( sky boxes are quite often the culprits, they are often connected with a splitter rather than a filter )
Finally is the 'ring wire' connected in the wiring to the other sockets ? see here http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm

Interleaving is on which will hold things back for you .
Look at the checker at Kitz http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/max_speed_calc.php and add your downstream attenuation (49.5db) to get a rough idea of possible speeds.
Router has been up for about 14 weeks before that about a year etc. It is the main socket but, unfortunately, this place was built in 1984 and I believe the line was installed at that time and nothinghas been changed. since then. We moved in about 7 years ago. One thing I notice about this USRobotics router is how well it holds on to the line no matter what.
As you say it stable but it depends whether you want to try and get more from line or not. The elevated margin at 15 is providing your stability, the previous posts have suggested possible solutions to try and reduce the default margin. I wouldn't worry about interleave on or off at the moment.
