Incoming email from my website is redirected to my idnet.com address. For several years, I have been happily replying from john@mydomain.co.uk by way of the idnet SMTP server using Outlook Express.
Can anyone explain why I am suddenly getting the following error when I try to send messages?
The connection to the server has failed. Server: 'smtp.idnet.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Outgoing mail from my idnet.com address is fine.

Hi and welcome to the forum. :welc: :karma:
Let me just do some checking and I'll be right back.
This may be the problem from Idnet Status page: -
Network Status
2010-05-31 15:03: There seems to be a power issue in Telecity as our hosted-mail server is off-line. Support are investigating.

Rik do IDNet block port 25? If so the others are 465 587
No as far as I know, Steve. I've used IDNet's outgoing server for other domains before now.
Hi Ray
Many thanks. I must have checked the status page just before the message was posted. Thanks to everyone else for the prompt responses.
