Mozilla has given a breakdown of its plans for Firefox 4, including a pledge to make it "super-duper fast".
Perhaps the most striking change to Firefox 4 is the user interface, which takes a great deal of inspiration from Google Chrome. Though Mozilla was keen to note that the mockups shown in the presentation were subject to change, it's clear Firefox 4 will benefit from the design choices made by Google's pared-back browser.
"Something UI designers have known for a long time is that the simpler an interface looks, the faster it will seem," said director of Firefox Mike Beltzner during the presentation.

Stop changing my user interfaces! I get enough information overload as it is... :rant2:
I like the UI, I'm used to it, I know where everything is, and I can get to it quickly. I think I may be one of those "Community protesters" they talk about.

If it ain't broke, why copy someone else?
As long is it remains functional I don't really mind. What would bother me a lot more would be if all the plug-ins I'm using stopped working. I switched to FF so that I could use Firebug and a spell checker that works no matter what or where I'm browsing. I now have a large number of plug-ins that I've come to rely on daily and I would hate to lose any of them.
I'm with you, Zap, I hate change for the sake of it. Concentrate on security and a good rendering engine and leave the interface alone.
I'm with you guys. Not liking that mock up much. Still there's always theme's and personas.
I do agree, needs to be secure with a fast renderer.
Not keen on add-ons, apart from the usual, QT, Java and Flash and Shockwave the only toolbar I have opted to install is the NetCraft one which does an IP lookup when I visit a site.
I dont even use addons tbh - adblocker just used to make everything even more slow for me :S
So i ditched FF for my new gal chrome plus.
then again i may go back for more :P
