Can anyone who uses an Android phone confirm whether it syncs with Outlook? I was reading in a review of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 (which I kind of like, but it's not the latest Android version), that it will only sync with Google mail, which would be no good to me at all.
Not another phone, Simon ;D good review of it here, sounds like it sounds bad in calls though :(

My Desire downloads my IDNet pop3 mail fine, not tried via exchange or googlemail though.
Sorry, I may not have worded the question very well. I don't need it to sync with Outlook for emails, just for contacts and calendar purposes. The review said you can't plug it into a PC via USB to sync, like I can with my BlackBerry, and with the HTC HD2. I don't think I'll be getting the X10, as, nice as it looks, it isn't the latest Android version, and apparently, the battery life is appalling.
Is this what you want to do? http://www.htc.com/www/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=312&act=sd&cat=all

Battery life seems such an issue these days, Simon. Phone tech has leaped forward, phone batteries have not :(

Yes, that would be it, Glenn. Surprised it needs an upgrade to do this, when I would have thought it was one of the most basic functions on a smartphone these days.

It is indeed an issue, Gary. I have to charge the BB every night without fail.
I think it's just an upgrade to the existing software on the SD card.
I still think I might wait and see what's around the corner. The Desire does look nice, but it won't be all that much different to the HD2 I already have. I think I might hold out for the Nokia N8. :)
Use your netbook.
What netbook? ;D
Don't tell me you've actually had a clear out? :o
Oh, you mean that Eee PC thing? Just a toy. ;)
;D
What's wrong with IMAP on the phone and POP3 on the PC,setup so you leave a copy on the server for IMAP access until its removed/deleted from you PC inbox
That's how the BB works, Steve.
