I use an MS keyboard which has, amongst others, a button to launch the calculator. I would find this quite handy, except for the fact it always launches it minimised. :(
I can't find any setting to change in the keyboard, and if I launch the calculator from it's shortcut, it works normally.
Anyone got any clues, please?
I have an MS keyboard with the same function attached to my work PC but don't have the pointless additional suppot software installed (they call it Intellitype I think)
Might be worth uninstalling that to see if it has any effect?
Thanks...
Seems likely to be the MS software, Rik, I use a Logitech keyboard and the calculator button on that opens it up normally. :)
Only other thing I think it could be is a setting in iPoint or temporary application madness, has it been going on a while?
It has. It used to work OK, then suddenly stopped.
All the functionaliuty has been rolled into the built in Windows drivers anyway so I don't think you'll miss anything.
Thanks, I'll give that a whirl.
I've installed no software for my MS natural 4000 keyboard, pressing the calculator button gives me it maximised. :dunno:
Time to uninstall, then. :thumb:
I have an MS mouse but have never installed iPoint either as it just seems to add gimmicks,
Minimalist, eh? ;D
Yep, I run my home system lean and mean.
I'm not very good at lean, I like my food too much. :)
;D me too
;D
It's a common trend round here.
Yeah I've noticed
;D
If you don't manage to get it working then this (http://malektips.com/xp_calculator_0003.html) may be an acceptable alternative.
I've tried it and it opens a calculator in full when you press the CTRL-ALT-C key combination.
Thanks, John. :thumb:

Intellitype removed, problem solved. :karma:
Cheers.
Always makes me happy when I actually help someone fix something.
:)
I know what you mean. :)
spend a lot of my time at work collating info for developers when I've exhausted everything I can do for a user with not too much knowledge over the telephone.
:)
its why I'm doing the CCNA so I can go back to actively fixing stuff.

I like the passive approach myself!
Yes yes but you get what I mean I'm sure rather than collating info for others.
