I've been using routerstats for a few days to keep an eye on my line figures.
I've had it save out logs to comma sep. files. Even if that wasn't the best of ideas! However I'd like to take a log for any given day and plug that into open office and make my own graphs. Any ideas on doing that? I've told it to start new logs every day, and it's been doing that just fine. I got a few to files play with now as a result.
I used to know all this sort of stuff, but now more or less forgotten everything I used to know, so something like newbie level could be assumed on my part if you do have anything I can try!
I've never done statistical analysis, but getting a slight grasp on that might be handy I think.
To import the files into office, if you open up Excel, then locate and open the file from within excel it should give options for importing the text. You need to select delimited on the first step (then click "next"), tick "comma" on the next step, decide if you want to change the formating of the columns and then click finish.
Hopefully each column of information which was previously seperated with a comma should be in it's own column in Excel.
Once you have it imported you can then start to play about with graphs!

Thanks Lance, I am using open office, and as such it does not have excel, but I shall have a play and see if it works in a similar manner. I sure hope so! :D
I would imagine it does have an import function for CSV (comma separated values), it is a pretty common format!

Yes, but I am a bit stumped as to how to go about it as they (RouterStat authors) put text and numbers in between the comma pairs! Daft beggars they are >:(
Run the file through a word processor, and use search and replace to remove the text?
