My slow speed issue is still with me, James at support suggested I wait up to 72 hours for the profile to update. But we had a power cut last night (lasted approximately 4 hours) and this has made things worse. :rant2: Does this mean I will have to wait another 72 hours with pathetic broadband. :dunno: I try web sites I visit, go away make a brew, and they are still loading when I get back. :eek4: My speed before this issue was a regular 6 meg plus. :thumb:
Just done a B***** T**** test and got this:
Download speedachieved during the test was - 103 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 50-250 Kbps.
Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :6208 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 135 Kbps

At this point in time technology is not my favourite subject.
It should bounce back faster than three days, Mick, given the big increase in speed.
Thanks Rik. :thumb:
Funny thing happened last night, the weather was awful, gale force winds sleet and snow, and big mouth (me) said we haven't had any power cuts this winter, have we? Well you can guess what happened next. :bawl: My lips are sealed in future. :fingers:
;D
I know that feeling well, Mick.
We had one lasting a few seconds over the weekend, made me glad my router was running off a UPS so I didn't lose connection. :)
Know just what you mean, Ray, I have the router on a UPS for the same reason (I also run my Sky box from one...).
I have the computer and peripherals through a UPS, but my router is in the living room plugged into the main BT socket. Maybe another UPS would help, a small one would suffice, and that's a good idea of running the sky box through it. :thumb:
It does help Sky+ a lot, Mick, I've needed far fewer re-boots since I put the UPS in situ, and in the event of a cut, it will keep the box running for 15-30 minutes, usually long enough for the brief outages and certainly long enough for a graceful shut down.
Slightly off topic. What was the number for doing a quiet line test? Reason I ask is I've just been speaking to a neighbour (nearest one, about a quarter of a mile away) and the line was noisy.
17070, Mick, option 2.
Thanks again Rik. :thumb:
Quiet as a mouse, must be the neighbours line.
One more thing eliminated.

Things are looking up: :thumb:
