Title: BT Business does it again
Post by: kinmel on Mar 29, 2010, 18:10:02

Having upset it's customer base with Phorm, BT are now hijacking HTTP to push their spam.

Their Business Forum (http://btb.lithium.com/t5/Broadband-and-internet/HTTP-request-hijacking/td-p/12631) is carrying some very upset posts

mind you if you trust your business internet to B.T. you deserve all you get

That pretty abysmal, I wonder how long it'll last.

It'll be like the Phorm trial, Zap. Expect two or three more variants.

When your an oligopoly you can do this. When your a competitive business this kind of unannounced, liable/dangerous, irresponsible and invasive business plan is suicidal. How many customers do they want to loose? If your going to trial this, give people an opt in option, not an opt out. Do it to beta testers and retail users only. Not to your business customers!

Reading the posts makes it look like even more of a joke. BT admin/mods etc saying "we ARE doing this. It IS better for you. Have a nice day." and completely steam rolling the opinions of the customers. Am I right in thinking that as their business customers they cannot take BT to task with OFCOM? Also did not Virgin try this already?

I just got another phone call from BT offering me FTTC which is odd because every time I contact them about it they say my exchange is not enabled. Anyway I asked about HTTP hijacking and the sales person put the phone down on me

Apparently they phoned back later but I was out. I'm wondering what they wanted now.
