I have always had the odd loss of connection, usually only once a month or so, in fact I had one yesterday morning:
Sun 2010-03-28 07:01:19 ADSL link down
Sun 2010-03-28 07:01:21 ADSL G.994 training
Sun 2010-03-28 07:01:31 ADSL G.992 started
Sun 2010-03-28 07:01:38 ADSL G.992 channel analysis
Sun 2010-03-28 07:01:44 ADSL G.992 message exchange
Sun 2010-03-28 07:01:44 ADSL link up, interleaved, us=786, ds=13686
Sun 2010-03-28 07:02:11 WAN connection restarted, please check your internet settings
Sun 2010-03-28 07:02:13 WAN CHAP authentication success
This morning same thing - same time of day as well:
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:14 ADSL link down
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:15 ADSL G.994 training
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:25 ADSL G.992 started
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:32 ADSL G.992 channel analysis
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:38 ADSL G.992 message exchange
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:39 ADSL link up, interleaved, us=786, ds=11888
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:52 WAN connection restarted, please check your internet settings
Mon 2010-03-29 07:12:54 WAN CHAP authentication success
It's unusal for this to happen two mornings on the trot and it isn't really a problem (Other than my online game hanging in the middle of a bossfight) but is it likely to be anything I can change or is it just 'one of those things' that I need to live with? There is nothing I can think of that happens here that would likely cause a problem - it's a static environment, no power surges (Everything is on surge-protector extensions anyway) and it always comes back up again in a minute or less but like all these things, if it's avoidable I'd like to avoid it!
Looks like you lost a bit of downstream speed as well. What's the router stats looking like?
adslctl: ADSL driver and PHY status
Status: ShowtimeRetrain Reason: 1
Channel: FAST, Upstream rate = 786 Kbps, Downstream rate = 11888 Kbps
Mostly Greek to me I'm afraid...

Have you got any error counts available, Inky?
Thanks Steve, Rik.

Those don't look too high, so shouldn't cause a problem. I suspect there's just a burst of noise triggering the resync, ADSL2+ being more sensitive in this respect than Max was.
I wonder what the margin was for the previous higher sync @ 13686
Good question, Steve.
