Title: Contention on Home Max
Post by: Tanzanite on Mar 17, 2007, 17:48:25
Hi All,

I am considering signing up with ID Net and wanted to know what the contention is for Home Max. It lists it as n/a. Does this mean it's 1:1 ?

Thanks.

It's certainly not 1:1; I believe it is n/a as BT no longer specify the contention rate on the ADSL Max products.

So does that mean I could be sharing it with 50 others?

You could be sharing it with as many people there are connected to your exchange, however, BT do have guidelines which they follow to ensure that your internet does not become too slow. It is not a set contention anymore. Hope this helps!

I'm surprised they don't rate it as "up to" 100:1 or something snazzy like that!  :D

It's not like BT to miss a trick that wide! ;D

The problem is, they couldn't agree on how many zeros to quote. :)
