Title: Getting Interleaving Turned Off
Post by: AndyG on May 14, 2006, 16:40:17
Hi

Has anyone asked to have Interleaving turned off through IDNet yet?  I've emailed support yesterday but was wondering how long it takes and whether there is a charge (I'm told that BT charge the ISP £5).

I'm interested in this as well...

If you're not happy when interleaving is OFF, is it simple to get it turned back on ?? Any charges ??

Thanks

I maybe wrong, but I thought IDNet had interleaving turned off by default on all MaxDSL regrades/new orders.

It is off by default, but if you have problems on your line it will be turned on by the BT system. I'm not sure if they charge to have it turned off. Give support a ring or email.

Hi all.

Miriam responded before 10AM this morning saying that she had submitted a 'modify' order to BT and that interleaving would be switched off within 24 hours. The response also stated that if I experienced intermittent connections and poor stability it may be necessary to turn it back on to regain stable service.

I mailed back asking if interleaving would come on automatically again or would it only come on if I requested it.  I seems it will come on automatically if BT decide it's the only way to get my line stable.  I could, of course, ask to have it switched off again.  ;)

Hopefully, interleaving won't come on for me again. I think it came on as a result of frequent resyncs as a result of the poor performance of a Draytek router and the electric storms of last Friday.

BTW:  There was no mention of a charge for this change.

Cheers Andy think I will make a call in the morning, or maybe wait and see what happens with you.

About 20mS off pings to the IDNet gateway I'm connected to (212.69.63.37 uk.dsl4.idnet.net).
