Title: Room planning software
Post by: Noreen on Mar 15, 2010, 11:20:31
Can anyone recommend a SIMPLE room layout program? I just want one with a measured grid where I can place furniture etc it doesn't have to be 3D.

I haven't used any, Noreen, as I always draw the stuff myself, but there's a trial here:

A 3D one here:

Plus some Ikea ones here:

Another here, but no details...

I haven't used it, Noreen but this one (http://www.ashampoo.com/frontend/products/php/product.php?session_langid=2&idstring=0067) looks quite simple and reasonably priced, they seem to produce some good software I've been using one or two of their other software products for some time.

Thanks for the links. :thumb:  I had already downloaded this one http://www.sweethome3d.eu/index.jsp which seems to have good online reviews and it's free. I don't really want to pay for something that I'll probably only use once and just wondered if anyone had actually used one.

I drew up all my rooms plans in Corel Draw!, then had bits of paper cut to scale to represent all the furniture. ;)

Ashampoo in Ray's link does a free trial which will probably be enough for your needs ;D
