Title: Diagnosis tools
Post by: mrapoc on Mar 14, 2010, 11:33:52
Thought I'd create a thread for diagnosis tools, I know of a few but could do with others

Ram testing - Memtest64+
Usually comes with other tools nowadays such as

Dr Cureit Live CD (comes with memtst64+)
Useful for fixing not boot machines due to viruses

ATITool is useful for seeing if graphics cards are to blame as it stresses it

OCCT is a useful all round stress tool from CPU to PSU

I could do with a HDD diagnosis tho?

I think the multiboot usb from pendrivelinux (http://www.pendrivelinux.com/boot-multiple-iso-from-usb-multiboot-usb/) is the new kid on the block, not only does it have all the current set of tools to hand , it is very simple to add others later

It's a brilliant piece of kit.

Prime95 (http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=103) is regularly touted as the defacto stress testing tool.

ProcessExplorer (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx) is what Task Manager should be.
