Title: TomTom for iPhone
Post by: Steve on Mar 03, 2010, 11:03:12
It would appear an update for the TomTom iPhone app will include real time traffic updates presumably with a subscription.

The Live service is very good, Steve, but it does carry a subscription.

I used that on a TomTom last year and as you say works well but the car I have now has inbuilt SatNav so another gadget resides in a cupboard until we venture overseas again.

In built does have the advantage of not having to hide the unit every time you park, though.

I've had the update for a few days now, and can confirm the traffic works really well. The pricing for a year (£40) is a bit steep, but you can get it for a single day at a time as well for 60p. I only need the traffic once every couple of weeks or so, which works out fine. The traffic is far more accurate than the old TMC system.

That single day price is quite reasonable, Bruce, pro rata pretty much and no hefty premium for the one off.
