I've been on Home Max for a couple of years now and very happy with the speeds and service.
With the changes in bandwidth I can comfortably move to ADSL2+ Home Plus but am concerned whether the DG834GT is compatible with ADSL2+. The firmware is V1.02.14
Should I expect any problems?
many thanks
:welc: :karma: Richard, I believe the router is compatible, but can't confirm 100%. I'm sure someone will be able to confirm one way or the other, or call support, they should be able to tell you if it works.
:welc: :karma: I think the answer is yes, there are a variety of firmwares, see which one works best.
:welc: :karma: What Glenn & Steve said. ;)
:welc: :karma: Richard.

Many thanks.
When I contacted Idnet they could not find any mention of ADSL2+ in the 834GT datasheet.
The firmware downloads mention support for ADSL2 and ADSL2+

Seriously? They sell the DG834G V5 which is similar! LOL!
It was an old data sheet. ;)
There's still not at lot on the data sheet at the Netgear site, the recent stuff is with the firmware changelog
Maybe it was written in Chinese
Many thanks for all the comments.
Not too good with the technical stuff so wanted to make sure before I take the plunge.
I'm using that router with V1.03.22 (the latest) firmware. I've not seen any problems with it on ADSL2+ since switching last month.
No problem with the 834GT on ADSL2+
I am currently using one on LLU getting
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 18583 kbps 1019 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.5 db 9.9 db
Noise Margin 9.7 db 6.5 db
Still using older firmware V1.02.16 have used routerstats and dmt in the past and have synched as high as 20763
Thanks. :thumb:
